The Shires Double Jointed Sweet Iron Pelham Bit is designed to produce a sweet taste and encourage salivation as it oxidizes.

The addition of copper ribs helps prevent the horse from hanging on the bit. A Pelham uses pressure on the poll, corners, bars, tongue .and chin groove. This is a stronger, harsher bit that will assist with control when used with caution. The multi-jointed mouthpiece works to prevent nutcracker action.
